Homemade, Naturally Colored Frosting

Ingredients:

- Purple Dye: 1 cup frozen blackberries

- Red Dye: 1 small beet, peeled and roughly chopped

- Green Dye: 1 tsp matcha green tea powder

- Yellow Dye: 1/2 tsp ground turmeric powder

Buttercream Frosting:

- 1/2 cup room temperature unsalted butter

- 2 cups confectioners sugar

- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract

- 2 tsp milk of choice (omit for red & purple)

- 1 Pack EllaOla Unflavored Multivitamin powder (per serving)

 

Instructions:

1. Use a mixer to cream butter until it’s light & fluffy. Add the sugar & vanilla

2. Separate frosting into 4 bowls to add coloring to

3. In a pan heat blackberries over medium-low, stirring & mushing the blackberries until liquid. Then remove from heat & strain. Add remaining dye to frosting until it turns purple.

4. In a pan, heat 1 – 2″ water, add chopped beet & bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer  for 20 minutes. Strain to remove beats, then add remaining dye to frosting until it turns red.

5. Mix matcha green tea powder & milk into frosting for green dye.

6. Mix ground turmeric powder & milk into frosting for yellow dye.

7. Sprinkle EllaOla Unflavored Multivitamin powder onto the cookie with icing, use a knife to blend together, and enjoy!
