The Clean Label Project™ is a non-profit that tests for more than 200 common pesticides, plasticizers, and harmful chemicals, including heavy metals. Products that meet the safety standards outlined by the most stringent California’s Proposition 65 rules in the US and other relevant regulations are eligible for Clean Label Project™ certification.
The Clean Label Project™ has now independently verified that our products are among the cleanest on the market. They buy our products off the website, just like our customers do. Then they put it through rigorous testing at the highest sensitivity levels available, and then publish the results.
How Does the Clean Label Project™ Operate?
- Finished Product Testing: Products are purchased randomly, mirroring what an everyday consumer would buy.
- Heavy Metal Testing: Screening for carcinogenic heavy metals such as arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury.
- Pesticide Testing: Conducting tests for a wide range of pesticides.
- Glyphosate Testing: Detecting glyphosate, the most widely used pesticide in the U.S., linked to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (e.g., Roundup).
- Plasticizer Testing: Assessing plasticizers like BPA, BPS, and phthalates, which are associated with hormone disruption and infertility.
- Food Safety Proof: Ensuring products meet GMP or GFSI-recognized food safety standards.
